8 Plant Navajo Dye Chart
Navajo Dye Charts display samples of plants that are the source for the colors of the vegetal dyes used to dye wool for Navajo weaving. Every Dye Chart is different and the plant samples will vary depending upon the time of the year during which they are harvested. Also, the "rug" being woven will vary in size, design, and color. Some rugs are shown on a scale model of an upright loom, the 'primitive' type used by Navajo weavers.
